My Story - My Training
About Me
My Story
I went from being a very active person to almost bed-ridden over the course of several years in my mid-20s. I hiked over 800 miles of the Appalachian Trail, loved to camp, and was completing a yoga teacher training program. I couldn’t understand why I was so tired all the time, and having intense digestive issues. Then, more symptoms began, including body aches, brain fog, night sweats, and my hair was falling out. It took me 5 years to get any real diagnosis, every lab was coming back negative.
My symptoms didn’t change until I started working with a Health & Wellness Coach who taught me about gut health and encouraged me to continue my search for a diagnosis. Finally, I found out I had chronic Lyme disease as well as 4 other tick-borne co-infections!
I began intensive research on how to heal further and decided to get my certification as a holistic Health & Wellness Coach. I discovered many ways to feel better despite there being no obvious cure to my illness, which inspired me to help others do the same.
My Training
I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where I learned about holistic health and coaching methods. I took a 6 month Gut Health course from IIN. I then went back to college and graduated Goddard College with a Bachelors Degree in Health & Art Sciences.
In the fall of 2023, I decided to become board certified, which gave me even more insight into properly caring for every client. I passed the National Board of Health & Wellness Coaches exam in March 2024.
